ATTENTION ALL EMPLOYEES

 

Benefit:

For all employees  per-class book reimbursement is $50.  

Requirements:

All classes will require the advance approval of the employee's Department Head and must meet one of the following: be required as part of a degree program; be relevant to the employee's current position; or be related to a City job.

Requirements:

An employee who received tuition and/or book reimbursement must remain employed by the City for one year, or reimburse the City for Tuition/book payments received during the 12 months prior to separation.

You must submit an invoice from the school that indicates the amount you paid or that shows a zero balance owed.

If you paid lab fees, be sure to include documentation.

Please use your City employee ID number (e.g. the one on your paystub).

Your paperwork will be returned to you if incomplete or inaccurate.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  •  Who can receive tuition reimbursement?
    • All employees and elected officials, who are in regular, non-probationary status, have the opportunity to participate in the Tuition Reimbursement Program.
  • How much will I receive?
    • Employees are eligible for reimbursement for 100% of the cost of tuition and lab fees, not to exceed the state rate for undergraduate or graduate courses. Under this program, the employee can receive reimbursement for up to 18 credit hours per fiscal year.

 

  • Can I attend any school I want?
    • The institution must be recognized and accredited and offer college credit for the course(s).

 

  • What about grades?
    • You must receive a "C" or better or "Pass" for doctorate level courses.

 

  • Can I attend a certificate course?
    • Only if it also gives college credit.
